Dear Winskill Families, It is with great enthusiasm that I introduce myself as the new principal at Winskill Elementary School. I am eager to begin this new role after having served as the district school psychologist for the past 15 years and the elementary school counselor for the past 6 years. I recently completed certifications as a principal, director of instruction, and director of special education. My decision to pursue certifications in school administration evolved from my passion and commitment to make a positive difference in the lives of children. Through my years in education, I have come to realize that to make the greatest impact on the largest number of children I needed to pursue a school leadership position. I feel very fortunate to be able to pursue my passion in the wonderful community of Lancaster.
As natives of Grant County, my husband, Gary, and I are committed to Lancaster and are very proud of our schools. We are the parents of four young daughters (Allison age 9, Madelyn age 8, Catherine age 5, and Lillian age 3 ½) so we understand the importance of a quality education where the focus is not only high expectations for learning but also the development of the whole child.
Winskill Elementary School has an excellent reputation and rich tradition of providing students with an exceptional education. As Winskill’s new principal, I intend to build upon this reputation and ensure that all children’s needs are being met. We have a talented and dedicated staff, and it is truly a privilege to be chosen to lead this school. Our mission will continue to be child-centered, a place where kids come first.
Again, I am honored to be here in this new capacity and excited to begin the new school year. I look forward to working with you and your children. When parents and schools partner together we go from good to great! Your participation and involvement in your child’s education needs no invitation. You are always welcome to stop in! Sincerely, Tammy Cooley, Principal
