Century 21 Accounting – Advanced
Description:
This course will further explore the world of accounting. Students will learn more accounting concepts such as recording departmental purchases and cash payments, cash receipts, calculating department payroll, financial reporting for a departmentalized business, accounting for plant assets, accrued revenue, paying dividends, etc. Students taking this class will be working towards Tran scripted credit through Southwest Technical College.
Evaluation Method
You will be graded on the following categories:
Homework/Participation 60%
Tests 40%
Goals:
Students will learn how to use accounting principles and records.
Students will learn how to journalize and post cash payments and reconciling the bank statement.
Students will learn how to use the automated accounting system.
Students will learn how to prepare a payroll record and payroll taxes.
Students will learn how to estimate inventory costs.
General Rules
1. Students must follow the district Computer Usage policy.
2. Any unexcused absences will result in a zero for that day.
3. Any students found sharing files will receive a zero on that assignment and a referral will be written.
4. The school tardy policy will be followed.
